Chicago Sky Basketball Academy and the Chicago Sky strongly believe talented, passionate players - who would otherwise be prevented by finances - should have the opportunity to nurture their growth. Several of our past scholarship recipients have gone on to become capable college players. We're excited to be able to offer scholarships to deserving girls in grades 7 to 10 this year. We are offering scholarships for the Grade School 7/8 team, Local HS Team, and Spring AAU Teams (14U-17U). Scholarship award level is determined based on Coaches' evaluations at the try-out. There are a limited amount of scholarships at each level and not all applicants may receive a scholarship. 20-30 applicants (based on their application responses) will be invited to attend a try-out.
ELIGIBILITY:
The scholarship is for highly-skilled girls in 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grades who love the game of basketball and aspire to be a high impact high school player. You must complete the form below to apply. You MUST be located in the Chicagoland area and able to commute to Chicago for practice. Scholarship athletes may not play for another travel/AAU program outside of CSBA, or their scholarship will be forfeited.
THE SCHOLARSHIP:
Scholarships will be awarded for the Spring season for GS and HS (March-May), valued at around $950. Scholarships will be awarded for the Spring/Summer season for AAU (March-July), value at around $2700-$3000. Recipients will be responsible for purchasing their own uniform for the season. (Players and their families will need to provide travel and accommodations to/from practices and tournaments).
RENEWALS AND BEYOND:
Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to renew their scholarship with consistent attendance and high performance, at CSBA leadership discretion, all the way through high school. Scholarship athletes may not play for another travel/AAU program outside of CSBA, or their scholarship will be forfeited.
Athletes with an aspiration and ability to play college basketball will also be provided the opportunity for college counseling assistance when the time comes.
THE COMMITMENT:
The spring season runs March-May, during which time teams practice three times per week with various weekend tournaments. Exact game dates and locations can be found on the team's page. Coaches will teach core fundamentals, creativity, and craftiness of basketball. The girls will learn how to recognize choices, understand their strengths and weaknesses, make great decisions, and chart a path to self-improvement on and off the court.
Of course, we understand everyone is busy and scheduling conflicts will come up. We are happy to accommodate missed practices for other commitments (within reason).

TIMELINE:
February 18, 2026: Online applications due.
February 19, 2026: Applicants will be notified if they have been selected to attend the scholarship try-out.
Week of February 23 in the evening: Mandatory try-out to help coaches determine recipients and award levels at the Latin School of Chicago.
February 27: Applicants notified if they have been selected to receive a scholarship and their team assignments via email.
Following week: Team practices begin.
